Whew! Thank god for The Biggest Loser, if I didn't have it to come home to on Tuesdays after school I doubt I would ever get my Tuesday workouts done. Spring Break definitely got me out of the fantastic sleeping routine I had going and has once again turned me into a grumpy, lazy and overall unpleasant morning person. I didn't get up early to do my workout like I had planned to so I decided to do it when I got home from school. However, as any university student can tell you, it is impossible to feel motivated after class. You come home and all you want to do is sit on the couch with a bowl of ice cream (or frozen yogurt in my case) and watch hours of crappy TV (can I get an Amen for Slice Network?) That is why I love The Biggest Loser. I PVR it on Monday nights so that after a long and boring day of class I can come home and watch an hour of The Biggest Loser and know that when it's over I'll be motivated to work out. It is also impossible to eat junk food when watching TBL. You get overcome with a horrible sense of guilt and feel terrible about yourself (trust me, I've tried).
Even though I had a serious lack of motivation this morning I still had a really good workout. I tried to push myself even harder today because I didn't really feel like I got the best workout in last night. I even ended up going to they gym to run laps at the track and get in some Cardio on the Elliptical. I'm trying to get to a 7min mile and yesterday I was at 8min 11sec. I have a looong way to go but I like that it is a measurable goal and I can see the improvement week by week. I also signed up for the
Color Me Rad 5km run that's coming to Winnipeg in July (link attached). I've never signed up for a run before so I thought a fun, non-competetive 5km would be perfect. The race looks awesome, I can't wait, it's also a great way to stay motivated. I've registered and committed to the race so I have to train and try my hardest to do well. It's one thing to cross the finish line sweaty and defeated but it's another to cross sweaty, defeated, with blue and yellow tears running down your face. #embarrassing
